Boy Flip Book

Today, I'm posting the second of the two flip books I made over my break. This one is for a boy. For this one, I was able to use papers and embellishments from my stash except for the buttons. I didn't have any buttons with me when I made the book, so it was a great excuse to buy some more. I really needed those buttons, because I am down to a mere 50,000 or so in my stash which puts me in severe danger of running out! :0) So here's the book!

I plan to see 2010 out by stamping and crafting and then bring in 2011 the same way. Headed of to the LSS (Priceless) both days to spend a little creative time with my stampin' besties!! Happy New Year to all!!

Baby Girl Flip Book

I had to make a couple of flip books over the break. Actually had these done before Christmas, but didn't have them photographed before they go off to their owners. Both are very late!!! I will show you the girl book today. It was made primarily in purple, with touches of green for a secondary color. The papers actually all match very well, but I couldn't get them to photograph or adjust correctly...probably all in the operator :0)

I really love making these books and they seem to be very well received when I give them as gifts. Most of the papers and embellishments are by DoodleBug along with some other misc. papers from the LSS. Had a hard time finding matching stuff in purples. I'm amazed I didn't have anything in my stash. Who says I have too much stuff? Obviously I don't or I would have had everything I needed for this project in my stamping room!! Santa Kitty Ornament

Another ornament I made, and probably my last Christmas project for a while. I used a Penny Black image that I just love. In the image, the three kitties are in a row, but I punched them out each into an individual circle. I dug out some candy-striped ribbon that I picked up at an after Christmas sale last year and another of those charms from my stash was added to the bottom. The back has dsp that has tiny flocked Santa hats. The middle one says Christmas 2010 on the back.
Now I'm ready to dive into some other projects while I'm still on Christmas break. I got lots of cleaning out done and even picked up the crochet hooks and yarn last night and whipped up a couple of dish cloths. Who knows what I'll get into over the next five days.....

Recycle It!!

I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas with friends and family. I know we did...got to see all the kids over the two days and most of the grands, too! It warmed up nicely for Christmas day, but got really cold again that night and never warmed up yesterday....freezing again today. I hear that there were reports of snow all around us, though I never saw any of that nasty white stuff, and very glad I didn't!!
It seems like everyone gets in the mood to start over and get things cleaned out with the approaching new year, so Totally Stampalicious has a very appropriate challenge for this week, and they even started things up a little early. This week's challenge is to grab something headed for the trash, or maybe even out of the trash, to make your project. I had some ribbon spools that I had thrown away that were in three parts...a small plastic bobbin, a foam ring, and two cardboard disks. I grabbed the first two parts back pretty quickly thinking there must be a use for them in the crafting world. Before those cardboard disks hit the big can, I pulled them back, too. No wonder my room is always such a mess!!

I used the plastic bobbins and foam rings to make Christmas tree ornaments for the grands.  I used the Angel Bear set and colored them with Copics. I used punches and Nesties for the various layers. Added a bunch of sparkle with tiny gems or pearls and Stickles. Found the little charms in a box of Christmas embellishments that I buy and rarely use, so they are almost recycled, too!!

Priceless swap card

Sharing a card I made for a swap at the local scrap and stamp store, Priceless. We had a Christmas party there a couple of weeks ago on a Friday night...lots of cards, food, friends, and fun. This image is from Penny Black and the papers are Bo Bunny. I made lots of these to swap with everyone and used different combinations of papers for them. the snowflake is covered in chunky glitter and lots of stickles on the image.
My  relaxing holiday has been anything but the last few days. Off again today for an unplanned shopping expedition. I'm done, one of my family members who doesn't drive isn't, so off I go to do my good deed for the day. Enjoy your time over the holidays. This will likely be my last post until after Christmas so MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

Just Fake It!!

Woo hoo!!! I'm officially on Christmas vacation!! Lovin' it and hope to get lots accomplished during my break. To kick things off, I made this card for the challenge over at Totally Stampalicious this week. The challenge is to use a some kind of faux technique and I used one of the many versions of faux wood to make a background for Gus and his pick up truck. This technique is done by simply dragging a color or two of distress ink pads directly over a piece of card stock. Then I used a ruler to draw in lines with a marker and add "nails" to finish it off.
