Just Fake It!!

Woo hoo!!! I'm officially on Christmas vacation!! Lovin' it and hope to get lots accomplished during my break. To kick things off, I made this card for the challenge over at Totally Stampalicious this week. The challenge is to use a some kind of faux technique and I used one of the many versions of faux wood to make a background for Gus and his pick up truck. This technique is done by simply dragging a color or two of distress ink pads directly over a piece of card stock. Then I used a ruler to draw in lines with a marker and add "nails" to finish it off.

Frosty Blue....Brrrrrr!!

Here's a card I got to make just because I wanted to!! Always a fun concept and I got to use this cute little image that I picked up last weekend!! Put a dog in the picture and I will probably buy it!! Add a chubby little munchkin and it's guaranteed!! This set is from My Favorite Things and I picked it up at Priceless, the LSS. I colored him with Copic markers. I was trying something different with the shading and I don't think it looks right, but I will chalk it up to a learning experience. just have that great eye for color and light that the great colorers have.

The papers are brushed silver, night of navy, marina mist and the dsp is from Bo Bunny. Tried to keep things fairly simple, but it started morphing out of control, as usual.

Make it clean

Clean and simple...a tough concept for me and in my world, this IS clean and simple. It looks like it has lots of layers, but it's actually no more than four layers at it's deepest point. I used papers by Bo Bunny to make it appear to have more depth. The green scallop and border around the image layer are part of the paper's design. The only embellishment added is the single bling in the center of the flower. I used Attitude Ruby colored with Copics for my focal image. I made this for the challenge at Totally Stampalicious this week...make it clean! Another TriFold gift card holder

This is another of the double gift card holders I've made lately. This one had a matching card to go with it and was made as the sample for a class at Priceless Scrapbooks. The papers are Bo Bunny and the stamps are from Hero Arts. Here is a shot of the gift card holder in the open position:

Wrap It Up!

Christmas is getting close and it's just about time to get things wrapped up! That's the challenge for this week over at Totally Stampalicious...the make come kind of packaging or topper. I used a tutorial I had in my stash from a technique challenge that was done several years ago on SCS by Lynn Mercurio. My project is a double gift card holder and I used Santa Called Stella and colored her with Copic markers.

The folder opens up to reveal two pockets for holding gift cards. I am not sure, but I think this will go to my DIL. My son bought her an e-reader for Christmas, so I can get her a Barnes and Noble gift card to load some books onto it and also get her a gift card to one of her favorite clothing stores. I will add sentiments when I know exactly where I will use it.

This is a fun project that seems difficult the first time you do it, but once you have worked your way through it, it's not bad at all!

Reindeer on a Little Yellow Bicycle

Wanted to quickly share this card with you. I made it a few weeks ago and never posted it. The reindeer image is from little Great Impressions. Had to have him!! Those stars on his butt are just the cutest!! The papers and felt accessories are from Little Yellow Bicycle. Everything on this card came from Priceless Scrapbooks...the LSS.
Can't wait to finish some things with the new glitters we were playing with down there!! So pretty! A bunch of us got together and bought a few colors each and then split up the colors in little jars. One of the girls had a little electronic scale so we could weigh them all out...too funny. Got a lot of weird looks until they understood what we were doing. Then people were setting up their own little groups to try to do the same thing. When it was all done, we had 14 colors and had only bought 3 jars of glitter (one of the girls missed the second buy, so the math doesn't seem to work out). Probably won't get to play with the glitter until next weekend.
