Vintage Snowman

Most of what I've been making lately is Halloween themed and I really needed a break from it, so while I was at the crop at Priceless Friday night, I went down and picked out this cute snowman image from Impression Obsession. I have been wanting him since he showed up in the store a couple of weeks ago. I didn't bring any Christmas stamps with me that night, so it was the perfect excuse to add this cutie to my collection of about 5000 snowman images!! Well, it may not be that many, really, but they do take up a whole corner of my closet in the stamp room!
I was also excited to see that Trish had gotten in the 8 x 8 stack of the Graphic 45 Christmas papers. I had gotten the 12 x 12 stack, but for cards, I really prefer the smaller papers. Makes the patterns closer and better for small projects. Into the basket it went! She had also gotten in some new Nesties, so I added a set of those to my collection, too!! And here's the card!! Still haven't found my Momento black ink, so I am still working with the Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol for coloring. My Copics are feeling very neglected!! I guess I'll just have to buy a new ink pad! It's probably hiding in the same place as all four of my paper piercers!!!
Well, have a great Sunday! I'm going to spending some more time with granddaughter Kyli and then get some lesson plans done. Maybe even some stamping!!!

Another anniversary!

My dad asked me to make a card for one of his dearest friends and his wife's wedding anniversary. Knowing the couple, and that they have a great sense of humor, the first thing that came to mind for them was a stamp I had just gotten from Impression Obsession. They are city folk...from the south side of Pittsburgh, who now live in a more rural community in western Pennsylvania. For people who used to pull up a few red bricks from the "yard" to plant a tomato bush, the outhouses will surely touch a funny bone for them. He was also a hunter in his younger years, so the rack on the His outhouse is a perfect touch.  The Judith TP and plunger that is stamped on the inside went along perfectly.
The card base is certainly celery with a layer of chocolate chip. The image is colored with Copic markers. I added some flower-shaped pewter brads and a couple of layers of a Martha Stewart border punch. I stamped the inside with a simple "Happy Anniversary" sentiment.

Merry Christmas Horses

 I just love this image!!! I would love to see a couple of beautiful horses looking thoughtfully over the fence at me with their Santa caps on. The trim on the hats is all puffy with liquid applique with a light dusting of glitter.....yes, just a little bit! To give the iamge an aged look, I did the faux burnt edges technique that I learned how to do over at  Splitcoaststampers.

Accessories: sponge, liquid aplique, glitter, red marker, ribbon, brads

Spooky Cupcakes

I actually made this card a couple of weeks ago at the ScrapPink crop. Things have been so crazy lately that I am just now getting around to posting it.  I just love this spooky cupcake stamp by Impression Obsession. I colored the image with a mixture of Copic, Prismacolor, and Stampin' Up! markers. the designer papers are from Basic Gray's Eerie collection. The lacy trim is from a roll I picked up at JoAnn's. When I added it to the card, it really reminded me of Lily Munster....remember that crazy old show?
