Stair Step Card Class

A few days ago, I posted a card I had made for a stair step card swap I was in with one of my online groups. I had a card I received in that swap with me when I went to the LSS (Priceless Scrapbooks). Tricia (the owner) and I talked about doing a class there for the three different styles of stair step cards. We picked out some papers and stamps from the shop and this is what I came up with. I think they turned out pretty darned cute! The papers are from Reminisce and are the back sides of a series of papers depicting fairy tale images....Snow White, Red Ridinghood, Alice in Wonderland. The stamp set is an acrylic set by Hero Arts, Sweet Wonderful You. The class will be offered on May 4th which is a Tuesday evening for any of my local readers who may be interested in taking this class. Here are some photos of each card closer up....

I used Nestabilities to make the oval shapes for some of the images. All images were colored with Copic markers. Glitter gel pen was added to the flowers and some of the other details on the images.

Side Step Fairy

Just a quick card I made for a stair step swap. I used the fairy set from Inkadinkadoo and a sentiment set from Hero Arts. The base is Almost Amethyst and layered with Certainly Celery. The dsp is Basic Gray's Wisteria. Image is colored with Copics. Added a few blings and some glitter. Card measures 4 1/4" square.

What a rainy, yucky day this turned out to be! Good day to be inside. I decided to go ahead and finish this second card made with the new set from Totally Stampalicious. The Christmas tree image is from a See Dees set I've had for years and used very little. Decorated up the tree with a variety of stickles and pearly paint.Papers are from Basic Gray and Stampin' Up! The snowflake border punch is by Martha Stewart.

As for the funny shadow on Willameana's hair, well, that's a major "Oops!!" I had added dimensional glaze to her eys and had forgotten I had done it. After fiddling with something else for a while, I picked her back up and turned her over to add some pop dots to the back. Let's just say, Thank goodness for a heat tool and clear embossing powder. It's not nearly as noticeable in real life. This sure didn't turn out like I had pictured it in my head but it will have to do for today. Really have to get those lesson plans done!

Kyli has been here most of the weekend, but after spending most of the morning outside exploring, she went down for a nearly three hour nap! I managed to get some chili in the crockpot for dinner and then sneaked into the stamp room. I had so much stuff piled on my table that I had to clean it off before I could think about doing anything else. When I got to the bottom, I found the base for a stair step card that I had thought about playing with last week and my latest set of stamps from Totally Stampalicious. I love this farmer hawg dude! So much fun to color! Except for the base, all of the papers came out of the scrap pile. I did my coloring with Copic and Prismacolor markers.
