A Very Special Anniversary

This card is a work of heart. It it going to a pair of very special people who are celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary. I will tell you more about that in a moment. This card also fills the ticket for the TSMONDAY16 challenge over at Totally Stampalicious.  The challenge this week is to use digital images on your card. I have to say that those girls, Becky and Joycelyn, are being so smart about how they are developing their young stamp company. They are not over extending themselves and letting the company get into financial straits. They are also awesome about listening to what their customers want and the trends in the business. They have been offering free digital images with the purchase of a stamp set for a while now. But now, you can purchase the digital images individually!! How awesome is that??? I love having the versatility of choosing an actual stamp or a digital image. The digis are so easy to work with and offer so much versatility...I'm really getting hooked on them!

For this card, I used an old sketch challenge from Splitcoaststampers for the basis for my card. This baby is huge!! The base is a half sheet of basic black card stock with a layer of real red over it. I then added folding panels in each color for the images. I used two TS sets for this...Glam Kitty and Road Hawg. I think Glam Kitty makes a pretty cool biker chick! I even added one of Road Hawg's tats to her arm. I used a Copic markers to color my images and added some clear glitter gel pen to add some sparkly details to my images.
I know that bikers would not typically be into bling, but the female half of the couple this card is intended for is my sparkle buddy out in Seattle, Washington, and she is into shimmer, shine, glitter, and sparkle as much as I am. I also don't think they are particularly into Harley's or motorcycles in general, but when I was asked to make a special card in honor of their anniversary, these two images jumped right into my head.

Some of the other details on this card are the textured panels I added using brushed silver card stock, screw head and blingy red brads for the corners, a Martha Stewart border punch for the inside panel, and a computer generated greeting for the inside.
This goes off in today's mail and will posted on Splitcoaststampers later today. There is a conspiracy to create an entire gallery of special cards to celebrate Miss Em and Tihiti Pete's special day. Thanks for stopping in!
