A Monday Challenge on Tuesday and Some Easter Ham

It took a while, but I finally got around to making a card for this week's challenge for Totally Stampalicious. The challenge this week was to make an easel card.....MY FAVORITE!! I used some papers I picked up over the weedend from K and Co. I love these papers!! All glittery with lots of blues, greens, and purples!! I used Brilliant Blue for my card base and assorted papers from the stack to make my card. Coffee Brawd was may set of choice today and one of her sentiments fit perfectly in one of the little matching dimensional embellishments. I used it like a picture frame for some wall art in Coffee Brawd's kitchen. The lighter paper at the bottom of the front panel has a tiny tiled print in it. I don't think it shows up in the photo. Reminded me of a tile floor. The ribbon is from the scrap jar that I always forget to dig into when making cards! I really need to find a closer location for it so it gets used up more frequently.
What took so long to get a card made this week??? Well, I had a small distraction at my house for Easter weekend and then most of the day yesterday. My granddaughter, Kyli, was over for a visit as usual. The duration was a little unusual. She doesn't typically stay over two nights in a row, but I just wasn't ready for her to go home Sunday.
She has obviously been taking lessons on posing from her older cousins. Their reaction to a camera is to lean in and smile! Every time I picked up the camera, she threw herself into a pose...too funny. Here are a few shots from Easter morning and then a little later in the day when we were out with the cows and walking around the yard.
This
shot really shows the birthmark that will be removed later this year, probably in May or June. The doctors were hoping it would go down more on its own, but it hasn't. It doesn't bother her at all, but the doctors are concerned that she will very soon become aware of the comments that are made about it and want to spare her that. It has changed color and is now a pinkish color rather than the bright red that it used to be. They say that's a sign it is ready to recede, but it may not happen until she is seven or so. Too long!!!

This was a huge dead oak tree on our neighbors easement that he had taken down a few weeks ago. It was very similar to the one that the ospreys have built their nest in in our yard (grammar?). I was kinda hoping  a pair of ospreys would make this tree their home, but alas, it's gone now. No danger of it hitting anything if it had fallen and looked kinda cool! Guess I'm just weird like that. Thanks for stopping in and have a wonderful week. Hope to get more creative time in this week! Happy stamping!!!
